Our approach in brief

We aim to keep this website as privacy-friendly as practical. We donot use Google Analytics 4 (GA4), advertising pixels, or other cookie-based analytics trackers.

For website analytics we useRybbit, a cookieless analytics platform. Because Rybbit does not set cookies and is designed not to identify you personally, loading it does not require a cookie consent banner under typical UK PECR / GDPR practice for non-essential cookies.

What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. Similar technologies include local storage and pixels. Some cookies are essential for a site to work; others are used for analytics, advertising or personalisation.

Cookies and similar technologies we use

1. Strictly necessary / operational

Our hosting and security infrastructure may set short-lived technical cookies or process request data needed to deliver pages securely, prevent abuse, and keep the site working. These are used for the operation of the website rather than marketing.

2. Analytics — Rybbit (cookieless)

Rybbit helps us understand aggregate website usage: which pages are viewed, roughly where visitors come from, and general device or browser information. It does thiswithout cookies and without building advertising profiles.

In practice, this means:

• No analytics cookies are set by Ministry of Search for Rybbit
• We do not use GA4 on this website
• Analytics insights are used to improve content and the site experience

3. Third-party embeds (location pages only)

On our location pages, we may embed a Google Map. If you visit those pages, Google may set its own cookies or process data under Google’s terms when the map loads. That processing is controlled by Google, not by Ministry of Search. If you prefer not to load Google Maps content, avoid those pages or use browser controls to block third-party content.

Do we show a cookie banner?

We do not currently display a cookie consent banner for analytics, because our primary analytics tool (Rybbit) is cookieless. If we later introduce non-essential cookies or cookie-based tracking, we will update this policy and, where required, seek consent before setting those cookies.
